Believe it or not, the little town of Kingsland, on the southern coast of Georgia, has a film studio (a location of Farragut Films) that boasts the largest freestanding Star Trek sets in the USA.

On December 7th this year, they are hosting Farragut Fest. Attendees can meet some of the cast/crew of the internet series and admire the sets: bridge, transporter room, sickbay, shuttlecraft, and more. These sets are used in the production of "Starship Farragut" and "Star Trek Continues" internet series, with more series planned.

Hard to believe we'll be having Trekkies from all over coming together in this little place! If you're a Trekkie and aren't too far away, come on down!

Here's a picture from an article in the Jacksonville Times-Union:

  1. I think I've heard the name Farragut used for a ship in one of the movies... so that's where it comes from?

    1. I'll take your word for it! I'm not much of a Trekkie, I'll admit. But they do seem to have a good time!
