In case anyone wonders how I choose, I count the number of entries and have my guy pick a number from the first to the last. Then I count and presto! We have a winner.

EARRINGS GIVEAWAY

Everyone probably knows I've been giving away earrings each month for one person who comments with the word 'earrings' in their post. The last month's pair went to a commenter in Canada. I had a problem ordering and earrings ended up coming to me and I forwarded them on to her. After filling out appropriate paperwork with help from two postal employees. Bless them.

I got word yesterday that she had just received them! Took them that long from the original order on January 4th to get to me on the 10th, then took from the 11th when I mailed them to get to her. This seems kind of stretching it out.

Anyway, I apologized for the hang-up. Maybe next time I have a Canadian winner, I'll know how to handle it.

Or maybe not! I'm not up on techie stuff and evidently, I'm clueless on mailing stuff, too.

FIRST EARRING GIVEAWAY OF 2013

Is it really the fourth day of 2013? Wow, how time flies!

This month, I'm giving away a set of amber earrings reminiscent of the ones Lindy wore for her last dinner with the formidable Warwicks when she dressed only for Gareth. Before Cavanaugh threatened her. Before the two men fought over the deed both wanted that Lindy possessed.

Thinking back, I realize those earrings were topaz and her necklace was amber. But that's okay. These are pretty, aren't they?

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND THE EARRING WINNER IS...

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope next year will be wonderful!

We celebrated with the crud -- for a week now -- but are nearly well. The cats celebrated a little too much. They hid under the bed during the fireworks, but the boy-cat came out to get in the bed with us later. He was so groggy -- I don't think he was inebriated, but who knows what they were doing under there? -- he couldn't quite make the jump and woke me up, hanging on by his claws. To the comforter and not me, thank goodness.

After I reached down and pulled him onto the bed, he conked out.

Hmm. He does look a little hungover today.

LAST TWO DAYS FOR EARRING GIVEAWAY

Okay, we're coming up to the end of the month. My first blog in November will give the name of whoever wins the earrings. Not many entrants so everyone has a good chance.

Here are the earrings for October. They're tied to my romantic mystery SET UP. Callaway loves trashy women with green eyeshadow, dangling earrings, and plunging necklines. The prim Amanda dons all of them to seduce Cal. Because if she doesn't, her sister's marriage will go down the tubes.

These earrings could be some she chooses to entice him.

GOODREADS GIVEAWAY

I gave away two Advanced Reader Copy proofs of TAXED TO THE MAX in GoodReads. The giveaway ended October 23rd. This morning I sent off ARCs to the two winners. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they like it.

The Publishers Weekly review was not bad but not great. Kirkus Reviews was much kinder. Lines from both are going to go on the final book cover, I learned yesterday.

So now I'm thinking since I have more ARCs, why not give away five more on GoodReads? It was really easy to set it up; GR did all the work. The book won't be available till the end of December so why not? Seems to me the more ARCs out there, the more chance for people to recommend it to friends and family.

I also have an ebook gothic with paranormal elements, THE WARWICKS OF SLUMBER MOUNTAIN, coming out in November. I'm wondering whether to try to give away some advanced copies of it, too. A little more difficult since it's an ebook. I'm not sure GoodReads handles them. Guess I'll have to check.

GIVING AWAY EARRINGS IN OCTOBER!

In October, I'm excited to be giving away earrings. In conjunction with a new Etsy store, Talismanmoon, one lucky commenter will win the pair below. If interested, all you have to do is comment and include the word earrings. At the end of the month, each commenter's name will go in the hat. One comment per person per day, but each day's commenters get entered so someone could have up to 31 chances to win.

When one name is drawn, I'll announce it on the blog. That person can email me privately with shipping info.

If October's contest goes smoothly, I hope to have another one in November. If it doesn't go smoothly... Well, guess I won't.
